Additional charges are:

  1. issuing of a ticket  – PLN 5

Are Przewozy Regionalne tickets valid aboard Arriva trains and vice versa?

The following types of tickets are honoured:

  1. one-time and periodic tickets with statutory and commercial discounts
  2. tickets for participants of organised groups

  6. Tourist Ticket valid on all trains

Are statutory discounts recognised on Arriva trains?

Yes, of course.

If you have a document that entitles you to a statutory discount, you can buy a ticket at Arriva at a correspondingly lower price.

If I want, for example, to buy a ticket from Bydgoszcz to Grudziądz through Toruń, should I buy two separate tickets according to separately calculated kilometres or one "combined" ticket?

When you buy a ticket at a ticket office or aboard a train for a route operated by both carriers, you can just buy one ticket for the whole journey, provided that when travelling with Przewozy Regionalne you actually board a REGIO train. One can say that it is a "combined" ticket.

We issue a ticket with the note "Change of Carrier" to the passenger who begins a journey aboard an Arriva RP train and will inform us that he or she will continue it aboard a PKP Intercity train and the time to change trains is shorter than 15 minutes. In this case the passenger is exempt from paying the additional charge for issuing a ticket aboard a PKP Intercity train.
Similarly, if the passenger continues a journey aboard an Arriva RP train and has a ticket with the note "Change of Carrier", he or she is exempt from paying the additional charge for issuing a ticket aboard our train.

Moreover, you will find information about so called tangent stations on your ticket, which informs about designated borders of Arriva and PR's areas of operation.

In practice, if you buy a ticket at a normal price (without a discount) for a journey from Bydgoszcz to Grudziądz through Toruń (113 km), you will pay PLN 20.50  (plus PLN 5 in the case of buying a ticket aboard a train if a ticket office was open), avoiding two separate rates:

Bydgoszcz ? Toruń (51 km) PLN 12.40 + Toruń ? Grudziądz (62 km) PLN 14.50 = PLN 26.90.

Thus, you will save PLN 6.40.

What are group tickets?

Groups organised by schools, universities, travel agencies, work establishments, parishes, associations, care facilities, consisting of least 10 persons (not including guides/carers) are entitled to the offer of group travel.

Groups are charged according to RAZEM fares for an actual number of a group members. Guides/carers are entitled to a free ticket, provided that their number does not exceed one guide/carer per every 10 persons paying for travel. Participants of organised groups are also entitled to statutory discounts based on an appropriate document.

According to the above rule, a 20-person group that will buy 20 tickets will additionally obtain 2 free tickets for guides/carers, a 30-person group will obtain 3 free tickets etc.

The organiser of a journey should notify us of a planned journey
by sending an e-mail to info.kolej@arriva.pl
or
by calling 0801 08 15 15 (for landline subscribers) or 22 481 39 48 (for mobile phone users)
not later than 48 hours prior to the planned departure because of possible overcrowding of carriages (for example, in rush hours - the time of commuting to/from school or work).

After obtaining a request our dispatcher will analyse capacity of the train the group is going to board and depending on results of the analysis he or she will:
        a)    accept the submitted request,
        b)    suggest another (possibly the closest) time of departure,
        c)    refuse to approve the group's journey.

In the case of a group travel aboard trains of two carriers Przewozy Regionalne and Arriva the organiser should:

a) Submit a written notification of a group travel (by sending an e-mail to info.kolej@arriva.pl or by calling 801 08 15 15 for landline subscribers or 022 481 39 48 for mobile phone users) not later than 48 hours prior to the planned departure because of the possibility of overcrowding of carriages (for example, in rush hours - the time of commuting to/from school or work).

b) After the request has been received and accepted, you will obtain an approval number for your group's travel aboard an Arriva train.

c) After showing the approval number at Przewozy Regionalne ticket office you will obtain one ticket for the whole route for your group.

Where can I return an unused ticket?

Tickets should be returned to the carrier from whom they were purchased. For example, if you bought a ticket at Arriva ticket office, you should also return it at Arriva ticket office. If you cannot return your ticket at one of our ticket offices, you can make a return in the form of a written complaint sent to the address of the Office in Toruń.

What should I do if I left something aboard a train?

First of all, don't worry :-). Our conductors and train managers pay a lot of attention to subjects left aboard and immediately hand them over to Passenger Service Centre in Toruń.
